August 4th saw another great event on the Spirit of New York when the NYC Power Group held its second annual Summer Cocktail Cruise. The weather was clear and presented a wonderful evening for sailing. Everyone arrived at the 23rd Street Pier on time and was anxious and ready for a great evening.
Over 100 people attended from a broad spectrum of the business community, sipping cocktails and wine while the yacht made its way down the Hudson River. Mingling with members of the NYCPG, guests enjoyed a panoramic view of both the New York and New Jersey skylines as well as the Statue of Liberty. The beautiful vistas could be seen from the dining room and also from atop the ship’s two observation decks.
A full buffet supper supplied the backdrop for new business introductions, lively conversation, and the cruise line’s own DJ playing an assorted genre of music that appealed to all ages. The three-hour cruise seemed to fly, beckoning our guests to finish up their delightful evening with dessert and coffee and that infamous roar from the bar, “LAST CALL.”
Returning from the calm seas, everyone disembarked from the Spirit of New York and happily commented that they look forward to next summer, when we will set sail on our third annual cruise. Many new friendships and business relationships were formed and will have a lasting affect on both members and guests. As you will see, the photos taken at the event showcase a fun evening had by all!
